Singapurs (Singapura) are the smallest breed of domestic cats in the world. The weight of an adult male does not exceed 3 kg, the weight of a female - 2 kg. Singapurs are absolutely non-aggressive, incredibly intelligent and affectionate with people. Breed History

Singapore cats are descended from street cats from Southeast Asia (from the city-state of Singapore). In 1971, American Hal Meadow, a member of a geophysical team working in Singapore, sent four kittens to his girlfriend in the United States. They became the ancestors of the new breed. Already in 1976, the Singapuras began to take part in shows and were recognized.

Care

To begin with, the Singapura must be caught: it is capable of running and jumping without respite. If the favorite came to your hands and fell asleep - take advantage of the moment, brush the fur. Breeding

The standard recognized only one color - sepia agouti (dark brown ticking on a light cream background). Defects of the breed are considered to be stripes on the outer surface of the paws and noticeable curvature of the tail. Crossbreeding with cats of other breeds is prohibited.
