The Governing Council of Cat Fancy (GCCF) was the world's first cat lovers' club. Today it unites organisations not only by territory but also by breed. European clubs use the GCCF standards. English felinological cat standards are compiled with great pedantry. They describe 30 breeds, for each of which a scale of points has been developed. All groups have their own grading system.
